In 2013, the surveys of pesticide use on fruit tree in Phu Tho, Hoa Binh, Nghe An, Hau Giang provinces were conducted. The results showed that 26 active ingredients of pesticide were widely used for controlling insects and red mite on fruit trees. Abamectin, Fenpyroximate, Pyridaben were most used in all these provinces. As the survey results recorded, 13 insect pests on fruit trees and red mite (Panonychus citri) occurred the most frequently. Number of sprays at Hau Giang province was the highest with 17 times per year, including 5 times for mixing between insecticide and fungicide. In other provinces, these were from 12 to 15 times. The results of insecticide usage survey will be used for implementation of research for insecticide resistance of red mite on the fruit trees.
